Arista wants more Exclusive
Already working with its newly acquired German subsidiary TLK as well as in the United Kingdom, 10-Gbps switch vendor Arista has decided to expand its distribution partnership with network and security VAD Exclusive Networks to its offices in Finland, France, Norway, Spain and Sweden. In some of these countries like France, the vendor may review its distributor network, as it already has local partners like Abbakan or Miel which may become redundant because of this partnership.

Midwich acquires Harris & Russell name and assets
United Kingdom : AV broadliner Midwich had acquired the goodwill, trade names and customer list of Harris & Russell Ltd (H&R) for an undisclosed sum. H&R, which was founded in 1924, is a three generation family business. It evolved from its stocks and service origin supplying wireless sets, condensers, and valves into a distributor of branded consumer electronics products to the independent retail and institutional sectors nationwide. A slowdown in demand during the recent recession led to a significant reduction in market share. In the circumstances, the company decided to close down and has disposed of its remaining assets to Midwich. Customers logging on to the Harris & Russell website will shortly see details of the MidwichHome contacts and a link through to the Midwich webpage from where they can find details of its products and contacts. MidwichHome division was created last year to address more specifically the independant retail market. Account queries in respect of the former Harris & Russell business should continue to be directed to that company, although Midwich Home staff will try to help with the continued supply products, on-going product queries and returns matters.

Acronis signs with Logosoft
Turkey : backup and disaster specialist Acronis has expanded its local distribution network with software specialist Logosoft.

Esquire launches its virtual reseller network
South Africa : broadliner Esquire has launched a virtual reseller network (VRN). The company hopes to link 2000 of its estimated 12000 resellers by the end of 2012. The VRN allows resellers to get virtual access to the entire Esquire stockholding, which is updated directly to the reseller's Web site at regular intervals – often as frequently as every three minutes. Currently, up to 5 resellers sign in every day, which allow Esquire to be confident with its goal of 2000 resellers signes within a year.

Italy : network and security VAD Ready Informatica has inked a partnership with TwinStrata. It will distribute its CloudArray iSCSI storage gateway through its VAR and integrator network.

Germany : network and security VAD Wick Hill has expanded its distribution partnership with Symanted to offer all Symantec.cloud security services to its resellers.

Adventure game publisher Lace Mamba Global has taken British gaming specialist PDQ as primary distributor in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Advantage Distribution, which is kept as Lace's secondary distribution partner, will focus on independent retailers.
