ASBIS signs distribution contract with Mellanox Technologies

Russia: broadliner ASBIS has concluded a contract with Mellanox Technologies, a supplier of end-to-end InfiniBand and Ethernet interconnect solutions and services for servers and storage systems. Through this collaboration ASBIS will propose the broad variety of Mellanox products: InfiniBand and Ethernet adapters, switch and gateway systems, software, and cables that will be available to ASBIS' channel partners in the Russian Federation.

Broadliner ASBIS has signed an agreement with smartphone vendor Gigabyte. ASBIS is now authorized to distribute GSmart smartphones in 17 countries of EMEA region including Belarus, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, the UAE and Ukraine.

Asbis hires Janis Kemers

Cyprus: Janis Kemers has been appointed as the Executive Vice President in charge of Sales & Marketing of ASBIS Group for the EMEA region. Janis has previously worked for Tech Data and SAF Tehnika JSC in senior Leadership roles in Marketing and Sales. In his last position held with Tech Data he was responsible for the European P&L of Components/Accessories and Printing/Supplies BUs, and operational business with Central Supply Chain vendors. In his new role Mr. Kemers will report directly to Siarhei Kostevitch, CEO of ASBISc Enterprises. One of the new VP's key priorities will be towards improvement of the working capital of the group, implementation of strategic business development, and management of regional operations.
Prestigio enters smartphone market

Russia: bringing along its first smartphone, the Prestigio MultiPhone 4000 DUO (PAP4000), broadliner Asbis, takes the first step to enter the fast-growing smartphone market. The device runs on Android 2.3 and will be available with the retail price of €180. More models of Prestigio MultiPhones are to follow in late September and may be launched in the other countries where Asbis is present, that is Belarus, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Dubai, Egypt, Estonia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Morocco, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine.
