The company has already sold its spanish subsidiary UMD to italian giant Esprinet, which is merging it with MemorySet, its other local subsidiary, to build one of the main spanish distributors. And according to all professionals experts with the file, the italian is about to do the same thing in France. So Fayrewood would then be left with only one IT distribution subsidiary, british Interface Solutions. If sold (it would certainly be so), bets are open on the name of the future buyer…

Italy : while its SMARTer program ought to simplify its distribution channel by limiting it to 3 paneuropean partners (Ingram Micro, Scribona and Tech Data), Xerox could not go through local situations. Especially, taking its program to the letter, it initially thought to dump Esprinet from its official network. That was forgetting that Esprinet is, by far, the biggest local distributor. So the printing company has finally decided to change its mind and officially ink a distribution agreement with the giant italian distributor, both there and in Spain (source : Top Trade Informatica Italia).
