D-Link grants Alliance Group VAD Status

France : Alliance Group, which is a distribution group specialized in networking and telecoms and comprising companies covering whole French territory (ACR Distribution, ACR Centre, Dream Tech, HBP Associés, Immotique Distribution, Indis Réseaux, Primo, Renest and Sodecpa) has been granted official VAD status by network vendor D-Link. Alliance Group was working with D-Link since some years, and this status is to show that D-Link wishes to help the distributor grow its networking business.

Magirus develops sales with Giampiero Longo

Italy : network and security VAD Magirus has hired from its competitor Westcon Security Giampiero Longo as new sales development manager for its secure networking business.

3Com expands in Indian ocean

3Com appointed its first African distributor outside of South Africa, signing up Mauritius-based NetEra.com – a fast-growing independent distributor operating throughout the Indian Ocean islands region including Mauritius, Seychelles, Comores, Reunion (French department) and Madagascar. 3Com reckons that the deal with NetEra.com will serve as a pilot for the ongoing channel expansion programme (source : ChannelEMEA France).

Trend Micro appoints Infinigate to Gold Authorized Training Center

Switzerland : antivirus editor Trend Micro has raised Infinigate to Gold Authorized Training Center status. The VAD is now authorized to train resellers for certifications (source : II Reseller Online Schweiz).

World IT goes east

Russia : Polish VAD World IT Systems has opened its first subsidiary abroad, in Moscow. Managed by Jean-Paul Bergmans, former Sun manager in Russia, its goal is to work closer with Russian system integrators (source : Computer Reseller News Rossiya).

A new CFO for Devil

Germany : Carsten Schmelzen, who was CFO for broadliner Devil, has moved in the group by becoming CFO for Devil Beteiligungs GmbH. Therefore, Devil has hired Torsten Matthies as new CFO.
