Notebooks theft at Ingram
Belgium : broadliner Ingram Micro has warned channel that it was the victim of an important notebook theft during the week-end of May, 23rd. Robbed products are HP Pavillion/6830S C2D and Sony Vaio notebooks. No precise number of stolen notebooks has been precised, although it is believed it is huge. The products will certainly reappear later on alternative distribution channels. Reseller can get the serial numbers of the stolen notebooks on info@ingrammicro.be. If any receives a product which is identified as stolen, he/she can contact Ingram legal department. Ingram reminds everybody that any reseller who would be aware of stolen products and not warn Ingram may be prosecuted for concealment (source : IT Reseller Belgique).

A POS/AIDC division for Tech Data
Spain : in front of its competitor Ingram success in POS/AIDC field with its dedicated businesses, broadliner Tech Data has decided to open its own POS-dedicated business unit. This initiative is yet a first for Tech Data in Europe, but may be followed by other such BU in other countries, or even, in case of success, may even lead to acquisitions. Currently, this division works around products from Datalogic Scanning, Honeywell–Metrologic, Zebra Technologies, TSC Printers, Epson Pos Printers, Brother, Fargo Card Printers and Chip Drive (source : Channel Insider España).
