Aberdeen penetrates European server market

Greece : California based server and storage manufacturer Aberdeen has announced the signing of Multirama to open the server and storage industries in Greece and surrounding emerging markets (Albania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania and Ukraine). We wonder if this deal will really be successful, as Aberdeen needs a real value-added distributor for its products, and Multirama is more of a broadliner. And because Greek companies are not know to be very present out of their local area of influence (Turkey, Bulgaria and, to a lesser extent, Romania, Serbia and Romania). Next months will tell.

Three new brands for IT2Trust

Denmark : security VAD IT2Trust has announced to have signed distribution partnership with Precise Biometrics, Cyberoam and Marshal8e6 (source : Computer Reseller News Danmark).

AT Computers stores on Iomega

USP Compulink signs with Genesys

Russia : network and software VAD USP CompuLink has inked a distribution partnership with Alcatel-Lucent subsidiary Genesys Telecommunications. Genesys Telecommunications claims to be the leader in callcenter software (source : Computer Reseller News Rossiya).

Uniformatic cools PCs in Xilence

France : cabling and PC component specialist Uniformatic has been chosen as new distributor by German vendor Xilence for its whole line of cases, cooling and power systems. Xilence products can also be found through AlgOS, Altys, Edox, JSD, Master Hightech and Secomp.

Novell dumps Computer 2000 following review

United Kingdom : Novell has served broadliner Computer 2000 with notice of termination and is continuing to review its distribution channel which could lead to further changes. With the amalgamation of various companies including PlateSpin, Managed Objects and other acquisitions, Novell felt it was over-distributed and needed to consolidate, all the more as it wanted VADs and not pure volume players, which Computer 2000 (unfortunately) is (source : Microscope United Kingdom).

Tech Data signs with Packard-Bell

Netherlands : already working with Acer for Acer and Gateway brands, broadliner Tech Data has extended its partnership with the Taiwanese vendor to Packard Bell products (source : Digitailing Nederland).

Distram in car with Tetrax

Italy : broadliner Distram has been chosen by local vendor Walmec to push its Tetrax line of product to major retail distribution. Tetrax products are an innovative patented system designed to hold electronic devices in cars, replacing bulky and big plastic holders (source : Channel Insider Italia).

Germany : young software VAD Prianto has signed a distribution partnership with German security appliance vendor Azeti.
