ASBIS appointed Apple Value Added Distributor
ASBIS, an expert in the distribution of Information Technology products to the EMEA emerging markets, has been appointed Apple Value Added Distributor (VAD) status in Belarus, Georgia and Armenia (through Belarus sales team), Moldova (through its local sales agent), and in Central Asia (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) through its Kazakh office. ASBIS will provide an extended range of value added services, develop routes-to-market, perform demand generation activities, develop the Apple Reseller and Retailer channels, complete channel authorization certification, improve warranty and post-warranty offerings and authorise and develop the Apple Authorised Service Providers network in CIS states. Distribution excludes iPhone sales and service. Products are supplied through Asbis warehouses in Czech Republic, in order to limit logistic costs and try to lower Apple product prices in the region.
A new distributor for SMC
Scandinavia : network vendor SMC has chosen Swedish network specialist Direktronik to be its new distributor in both Sweden and Norway. Direktronik, which has recently opened a Norwegian office, was already distributing SMC Edge-Core-labeled products (source : IT-Bransjen Norge).

France : telephony specialist 20:20 Mobile has moved to new offices in La Plaine St Denis, more modern and more appropriate for future development and meetings with vendors.
RSA dumps Bell Micro after distie review
United Kingdom : Security specialist RSA has ripped up its contract with Bell Microproducts following a review of distribution partners. The rationalisation leaves RSA with Computerlinks and Sphinx in the UK. The decision by RSA has further reduced the number of major vendors in Bell’s portfolio, after McAfee pulled the plug on its agreement with the distributor earlier this summer. Bell still carries Symantec, Websense, ISS, Fortinet and Barracuda (source : Microscope United Kingdom).
Globell draws with ACD Systems
Netherlands-based software specialist Globell has been appointed, through its office in Germany, official distributor for ACD Systems graphic software in the whole DACH region.
A new sales manager for Brack
Switzerland : previously a sales manager in B2B market, Andy Huber has been hired as sales manager by broadliner Brack Electronic. He will focus on business customers.
Some remote management for Infinigate
Germany : network and security VAD Infinigate has expanded its offer with GFI MAX from GFI, a remote management software based on a Hounddog Technology product, which was purchased a few weeks ago by GFI (source : Channel Partner Deutschland).
McAfee adds some value to Entrada
Germany : just a few days after announcing a signature with authentication specialist Swivel, network and security VAD Entrada has signed a distribution partnership with McAfee for its full offer.
NT Plus extends its convergence offer

IDCP listens to music with Sleek Audio
Netherlands : retail specialist IDCP has signed an exclusive contract with American Sleek Audio for the distribution of high-end in-ear earphones on the European market. Distribution starts immediately in the Netherlands as well as through existing IDCP partners in France and the United Kingdom. A sixth distributor for SMC
Spain : network and security VAD Lidera Network has signed a partnership with SMC Networks, to become its sixth national distributor, beside Diasa, DMI, Esprinet, MCR and Quatrotec. SMC also works with other local distributors (Aseuropa, Auge Informática, Canarmática, Desyman, Hard Memory, Instant Byte, Microx and TRN) (source : ChannelPartner España).
Real Image to distribute Houdini Suite in India
India : Real Image Media Technologies has been appointed exclusive distributor by Side Effect Software for its Houdini animation software in India. Houdini product range includes Houdini Master for VFX, Houdini Escape for animation, the Mantra – renderer, as well as the command-line Houdini Batch. The company will also be distributing educational versions of Houdini to institutions that wish to introduce a procedural workflow into their curriculum. The Houdini software’s feature set includes modeling, rigging, animation, particle effects, dynamics, compositing, integrated rendering, etc. It is available for the Mac OS X, Linux and Windows operating systems (source : Channel Times India).

DNS Arrow secures sole UK distribution for ActivIdentity
United Kingdom : VAD DNS Arrow has been awarded sole UK distribution status for authentication vendor ActivIdentity. The two firms have been partners since 2003.
