United Kingdom : open source DBMS vendor Ingres has announced a UK distribution agreement with software specialist Interactive Ideas. The partnership agreement will provide the channel with a database based on open source technology and gives resellers and ultimately end customers an alternative choice to proprietary database solutions, along with the option to move to open source throughout the technology stack. Interactive Ideas has maintained a long and profitable partnership with Red Hat for over a decade and has witnessed a steady increase in interest in not only Red Hat solutions, but open source technologies in general, which explains this new partnership.
FoviTech on the way of expansion
Scandinavia : Denmark-based photo specialist FoviTech has opened its first subsidiaries abroad, in Norway and Sweden. Swedish office is managed by former local Pentax manager Dick Karlsson and focuses on General Electric cameras and Sanyo eneloop universal batteries. Norwegian office is bigger and works on Pentax cameras as well as Sanyo Eneloop batteries, Olympus voice recorders and Elmo accessories. FoviTech plans to open soon a third office, in Finland. For this expansion, the distributor is fully backed by some of its vendors, namely General Electric for Sweden and Sanyo for both countries (source : Computer Reseller News Danmark).
