Dobson optimizes the Cloud
United Kingdom : Scott Dobson, who was previous managing director of telecom VAD VCOMM, has left to build up Cloud Distribution, a VAD specialized in the securization and optimization of remote and mobile end points. Scott remains a shareholder in VCOMM, which he co-founded in 2004, but did not wish to explain why he left. Cloud Distribution’s security solutions (BackStopp, Beyond Security, NeoAccel and ViBE) will be virtualised, hosted and subscription based.

South Africa : broadliner Esquire Technologies has launched ‘plug-and-play’ functional and funky USB gadgets from American vendor Dream Cheeky, in time for the Christmas season. Dream Cheeky’s range of plug-and-play USB products is for use at home or office, and also makes the perfect gift. The Cheeky range has a USB product for every user in almost every shape and size. The range includes a USB powered fridge to cool drinks, a USB light, perfect for evening work or travel, and even a USB roll-up chessboard that allows the user to play against friends or even challenge the computer.

France : previously distributed by CDV Madrics before this distributor was recently closed, game editor City Interactive has signed with a new local distributor, reeditor Micro Application, which starts immediately distribution in French-speaking regions of Europe and Africa with a few titles like Chronicles Of Mystery : The Scorpio Ritual, Code Of Honor 3, Art of Murder : Hunt for the Puppeteer for PC and Chronicles Of Mystery : Curse of the ancient Temple for Nintendo DS.
Alltron acquires clients and product range from Mundwiler Electronic
Switzerland : Aargauer IT distributor Alltron has acquired retail customers and product range of Mundwiler Electronic, a distributor specialized in cabling and electronic components, with among others brands Velleman, Visaton and Alpha Elettronica. This acquisition is part of a succession plan, which allows Alltron to expand in industrial and home electronics. Ulrich Mundwiler, the owner of Mundwiler Electronic, passes its end user and industrial customer to Brack Electronic, another company of Competec group, owner of Alltron. Ulrich Mundwiler will continue to work until retirement on its major clients and projects as an employee of Alltron.
