Kofax scans with Epson
France : EDM VAD Kofax has expanded its hardware offer with Epson scanners. Epson hopes with this new distributor to better reach EDM resellers, as its other distributors (Actebis, ETC, Ingram Micro and Tech Data) are simple broadliners.

Interactive Ideas announces CTA Digital distribution deal
United Kingdom : software and peripherals distributor Interactive Ideas has signed a distribution contract with gaming accessories specialist CTA Digital. The agreement with CTA comes on the back of recently adding AverMedia, Pair & Go and Rainbow to their range of peripherals and accessories for gaming and the home office and adds to long standing successful partnerships with Saitek, Mad Catz, Trust, Thrustmaster and Hercules.

Huawei gets back in France
France : Huawei gets back on corporate market through its switching business. It has chosen telecoms specialist Itancia as first French partner for its 4 new models, whose focus are on a lower power use.
Audim phones with Acer
France : telephony specialist Audim has been authorized to distribute the last smartphones from Taiwanese vendor Acer. It thus joins Acer's others distributors in the country, broadliner Tech Data (which is still preparing the opening of Brightstar in the country), mobility specialist Partelec (an historical Eten/Acer distributor) and telephony specialists 20:20 Mobile and Coriolis Telecom. These new smartphones, which all run under Windows Mobile 6.5, are very agressively prices, as they can be found between 229 and 449 € incl. VAT, and for much lower prices with operator rebates.
Arrow ECS and Magirus to distribute EMC Data Domain
United Kingdom : Arrow ECS, VAD business segment of multispecial Arrow Electronics, has been named an authorized distributor of the full suite of EMC Data Domain deduplication storage solutions for North America and the United Kingdom, through its local office DNS Arrow. This signature is linked to a broader move from EMC to start a two tier supply chain for its Data Domain products in the country, as the company also expanded its Magirus partnership (signed last April) to UK in the last weeks. According to some source, multispecialist Avnet Technology Solutions may become the first Data Domain distie, although it is yet to be officialized.
Avnet and Kodak service agreement enhances customer service and choice
Multispecialist Avnet Technology Solutions has signed a service agreement with Kodak, which will service the majority of document scanners distributed by Avnet in the UK and Ireland for various manufacturers, enhancing Avnet’s existing service offerings in these regions. Further European countries will be added to the agreement later in the year.
CCI turns a deeper shade of green
United Kingdom : storage specialist CCI Distribution has polished its green credentials by partnering with UK manufacturer VeryPC to supply a range of environmentally friendly hardware offerings to the UK market (source : Computer Reseller News United Kingdom).
Micro Application gets into services
France : software reeditor and specialist Micro Application has launched a line of packaged services dedicated to end customers. They leverage on a French law enabling people to substract half the price of home services from their taxes. Micro Application services include home installation, first contact, training or even troubleshooting. They will be carried on by PC30 network, which owns 71 offices and 1000 technicians all over French territory, and are currently sold only through Micro Application website. Prices range from 29 to 118 € incl. VAT, that is from 29 to 59 € after tax rebate.
Elko distributes Microsoft in OEM
Russia : PC component and peripheral specialist Elko has signed an official partnership with Microsoft to distribute its whole line of OEM hardware and software products (source : Computer Reseller News Rossiya).
Connect Distribution signs with SAP
Poland : software specialist Connect Distribution has been appointed official VAD by SAP for its line of Business Objects products. Connect Distribution will target SMB market (source : Computer Reseller News Polska).
Lenovo, Axiz sign distribution agreement
South Africa : Axiz and Lenovo have announced a distribution agreement, the agreement is set to help increase Lenovo’s presence in the market by leveraging Axiz’s extensive network of resellers. The Lenovo products distributed by Axiz will include the Think and Idea ranges. The Think range is Lenovo’s corporate offering and comprises notebooks (Thinkpads), desktops (Thinkcentres), workstations (Thinkstations), servers (Thinkservers) and monitors (Thinkvision). The Idea range is the retail offering comprising notebooks, netbooks and all-in-one desktops. Axiz will also be distributing accessories and warranty options for both ranges (source : Computer Reseller News South Africa).

Italy : cabling and networking specialist Tecnocael has signed a distribution partnership with 3M for its line of copper and optic cables.
Veho signs with Ingram Micro
United Kingdom : the UK imaging and audio-visual specialist Veho has inked a distribution deal with broadliner Ingram Micro. The move is intended to help Veho penetrate further in to the high street retail segment, and Ingram Micro has been chosen to help with this strategy due to its long standing relationships in this field. Ingram joins a number of distributors including Target Components, Micro P and Bluepoint who bring Veho products to various segments in the channel (source : PC Retail Online).
Fone Logistics sold to new entity
United Kingdom : telephony specialist Fone Logistics has been purchased by a newly formed entity as part of a business restructure to secure its long-term future. Fone Logistics dealers were sent an email confirming details of the sale, which took affect October 31, and played down suggestions the distributor had in fact gone out of business. The acquiring company will retain the orginal Fone Logistics brand, but has a new company registration. All contractual agreements for dealers as well as commission terms will remain unaffected for the time being although a review is expected (source : Mobile News United Kingdom).
