Computerlinks and Optenet team up in global distribution partnership
SaaS security vendor Optenet has entered into a distribution partnership with IT security and networking VAD Computerlinks to deliver a comprehensive channel partner program worldwide. As part of the agreement, Computerlinks will offer Optenet’s security solutions to its channel partners and enterprise customers through its offices in Austria, Bahrain, Denmark, Dubai, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, as soon as local teams are trained. Optenet’s solutions include Web filtering, anti-spam, anti-virus, email and Web security as a fully integrated and comprehensive suite of high-performance security services designed to dynamically and proactively protect against the latest and most aggressive Web 2.0 threats.

Czech Republic : Cisco VAD Alef Nula has decided to become unfaithful with its only vendor, by signing a distribution partnership with Microsoft for its SaaS offer (e-mail, backup and collaboration tools). Seemingly, this partnership is limited to Alef Nula Czech business and does not cover its activities in Slovakia and Hungary (source : ChannelWorld Cesko).
SillaroIT adopts a Panda
Italy : security and storage specialist SillaroIT, which was already distributing Kaspersky products, has expanded its security catalog with products from Spanish vendor Panda (source : Channel Insider Italia).
Avanquest gets strategic for France
France : software editor and distributor Avanquest has announced that the Fond Stratégique d’Investissement (French State Investment Fund) has decided to take an important part in the upcoming fund raising the company is preparing, and to become one of its major and long-term shareholders. The FSI plans to invest from €6m and up to €20m, depending on the exact needs of Avanquest. Avanquest also owns European subsidiaries in Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Wick Hill Banks on new sales director
United Kingdom : network and security VAD Wick Hill claims its recent growth spurt helped it attract industry stalwart Nick Banks to the post of sales director. Banks will fill the void left by Grant Taylor, who is exiting the distributor to take up a post at one of Wick Hill’s resellers. Banks was most recently EMEA managing director of security vendor Webroot and before that spent eight years at key Wick Hill ally WatchGuard (source : Computer Reseller News United Kingdom).
