Komsa gets into IT with Ingram Micro

Germany : telephony specialist Komsa has decided to expand into IT in order to offer its resellers a broader portfolio into convergence. It has selected around 2500 products from broadliner Ingram Micro (keyboards, mice, external hard drives, multifunctions, projectors, monitors, optical drives and home theater systems, without details of selected brands). Czech software semi-distributor HuPi Distribution has been appointed official distributor for Eastern Europe and Russia for Danish editor Papeer ApS. Papeer ApS edits eMag Creator, a tool to view online digital magazines and content.

Ingram Micro launches new mobile assault with T-Mobile pay as you go

United Kingdom : broadliner Ingram Micro has added T-Mobile prepay handsets to its portfolio. The move comes as the distributor prepares to review its mobile strategy in the New Year, as the distributor is struggling since several years to make any real impact in the telecoms industry. Actebis to get « light and easy »

Germany : in a bet to attract smaller resellers, Actebis has opened a dedicated website named actebiseasy.de. This website focuses on the best sellers of the distributors, namely 25000 out of its 90000-article-strong portfolio, with a specific pricing model. Resellers will be able to register, choose, buy and pay their products entirely online. Freight costs will be based solely on weight and payment may be done through credit card, Paypal, Giropay or prepayment. A phone contact may be possible, through a charged line. Resellers purchasing products through this website will be entitled to Actebis bonus point program. As resellers will have to choose between Actebis Easy and traditional Actebis services, one will see if this new initiative may cannibalize some of its traditionnal business.
