Conceptronic goes back onto the offensive
Dutch accessories and cabling vendor Conceptronic is attacking again European market, by (re)signing distributors in several countries. In France, the company is working again with broadliner Actebis, while it is launching a full offensive in Portugal through its three local distributors, broadliners CPCdi and Databox as well as network and storage M.M. Vaquinhas. The company has also recently signed a partnership with major broadliner Actebis in Germany, and other announcements in other countries should follow soon…
Xigmatek cools Roma
Ukraine : power supply and cooling vendor Xigmatek has reached an exclusive distribution partnership with PC component specialist Roma.
TCi gets bankrupt
Norway : one of the oldest remaining Scandinavian distributor, broadliner TCi has filled bankruptcy. The company has seen its turnover strongly dive in the last years, and had to fire half its employees (source : IT-Bransjen Norge).
Saudi AIM to start new distribution venture
Saudi Arabia : broadliner Advanced Integrated Media (AIM) is preparing to launch a new distribution entity that will focus on collecting non-HP franchises. The new operation, which is called Gulf International for Technology (GIT), will mark its arrival in the channel by signing a distribution agreement with printer vendor Epson, in addition to harnessing the Microsoft rights that AIM already holds. Bassam Abu Baker, group general manager at AIM, stresses that the move is in no way an attempt to dilute its HP business, but instead a means to maintain its focus on HP’s volumes lines while simultaneously giving supplementary brands the attention they require (source : ITP Middle East).

Four new brands for Techni Ciné Phot
France : after a difficult year in 2008, photography specialist Photo Ciné Phot goes back to attack. It has strengthezned its offer with no less than four new vendors : Wacom (pen tablets), SKPad (telephony cabling), Peekton (multimedia hard drives) and Buffalo (external and network hard drives).
Toshiba signs up CCI
United Kingdom : Toshiba Information Systems has signed up CCI Distribution as one of its authorised UK storage distributors. CCI will stock 48 different lines of Toshiba external hard drives, including the StorE Art range of 2.5-inch personal hard drives and the StorE Steel 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch products (source : PC Retail Online United Kingdom).
