EET launches European SafeVision
Just a few months after acquiring Danish Safevision, sparepart specialist EET has expanded it to whole Europe, as a video-security dedicated business unit. It is looking for dedicated sales managers, in order to boost rapidly the business in all countries it is present. Safevision products, among which Artec’s MultiEye IP servers, Mobotix and IQeye cameras, Mirasys hybrid servers or Microlight infrared illuminators, will be available through SafeVision BU in Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
A value-added portal for Ingram Micro
Germany : in order to position itself more as a VAD, broadliner Ingram Micro has opened a value-added-distribution portal, where all its VAD services are brought together. The portal is divided into four sections : Value Solutions, Services, Value vendors and Support. VARs and integrators will find there information, solutions and services about Ingram’s SaaS, business intelligence, content and data management, middleware, applications, business process improvement, security solutions vendors. In addition, Ingram Micro has launched a biweekly newsletter dedicated to its VAD business. Will it be sufficient to compete with Computerlinks, Magirus or Arrow ECS : next months will tell but, given Ingram records in value-added business in Europe, one may doubt… (source : ChannelPartner Deutschland).
Prodisma closes its doors
German PC component specialist Prodisma, which also owned a sales office in Austria, has quietly closed its doors a few days ago. According to banks and suppliers, which are scattered all over Europe, debts seem quite high. Managers and shareholders of the company are nowhere to be found and some even mention a possible a fraudulent bankruptcy…
Symantec and ERC expand cooperation
Ukraine : broadliner ERC has unveiled an extension of its partnership with security editor Symantec. it has become the exclusive distributor in Ukraine for Symantec high availability solutions, and has been authorized to distribute Symantec’s Altiris offer. France : broadliner Tech Data has started to distribute in exclusivity in the country the ME 70 7" mini monitor from Swiss vendor Xeo. This monitor uses a single USB connection for both data and power, and is ideal for secondary display for a notebook for instance.
