United Kingdom : British telecom specialist Electromaster has acquired Freerose and made it its British subsidiary, in order to cover more efficiently local market.

M-Tech hits back in Sun legal row

United Kingdom : after losing a High Court judgement against Sun Microsytems, distributor M-Tech Data is appealing to the European Court of Justice with accusations the server giant is "in breach of European law". The Manchester-based firm was found by the High Court of Justice to have imported Sun products into the European Economic Area without authorisation. "We are seeking to overturn the judgement entered against the company and have the matter referred to the European Court of Justice in Strasbourg, as we honestly believe that Sun use their trademarks in an anti-competitive manner, which we believe is unlawful and in breach of European Law," said M-Tech’s statement, which added that the process could have been handled more discreetly (source : Computer Reseller News United Kingdom).
