India : Chinese vendor Huawei has appointed broadliner Neoteric as official distributor for its LAN connectivity, network security, cloud computing, unified communications, video conferencing and tele-presence, video surveillance, VDI, and data center solutions.
Inuit manages mobile fleets with Dialogs Software
Sweden : network and security VAD Inuit has started the distribution of Smartman mobile device management solution from German editor Dialogs Software in the country.
Wildix leaves distribution
Telecom distributor Wildix, which is based in France, Italy and Ukraine, has decided to focus on the development and sales of PBX systems. The company is currently clearing its stocks of telecom products, and will then leave altogether the distribution business. It is thus disabled from ITdistri database.
Iomega chooses PC Dealnet
Middle East : storage vendor Iomega has signed PC DealNet as an in-country B2B distributor in Jordan and Qatar.
Magirus gets a new marketing director
France : Julie Lionet-Bourgat, who was in charge of marketing for former AutoCAD distributor Man and Machine, has been hired by infrastructure VAD Magirus as marketing director. She replaces Jean-Pierre Khamsopha, who has become market manager for VMware, one of the main vendors of the distributor.
Asbis in partnership with Fujitsu
Romania : broadliner Asbis has concluded a distribution agreement with Fujitsu Technology Solutions, the third IT services supplier worldwide and number 1 in Japan, as part of its development strategy. Through this partnership, ASBIS Romania will offer to its reselling partners products from the entire Fujitsu range, from mobile and desktop PCs, to workstations, servers, IT storage and peripheral solutions, both from the consumer range and the commercial one. Following this agreement, Asbis is extending its portfolio with new A-Brand products, which respond to various user requirements concerning functionality, quality and price of notebooks, desktop PCs, servers and other equipment. These products open new business opportunities for ASBIS partners, enabling them to approach a wider range of customers and to offer competitive products in different areas of interest.
Typhoon up for sale
Germany : following the bankruptcy of its latest owner, consumer electronics specialist PC Live Distribution, the Typhoon brand of accessories is, once again, on sale. The brand seems cursed for its owners : its creator Anubis went bankrupt. The brand was then acquired by broadliner COS Distribution, who has to get rid of it to PC Live because of a dispute with the copyright collective Orleando. One will see if a new owner will found, or if the brand will be definitely doomed.
Copaco finds a new director
Belgium : Luc Schulze has been hired as new managing director by broadliner Copaco. He replaces Dany Mestdag who left a few weeks ago. Luc is not a newcomer in the local IT distribution, as he has worked in the past for Canon or Tech Data.
