Ingram Micro opens a new DC/POS subsidiary

Italy : broadliner Ingram Micro has opened a new DC/POS office in Milano. Ingram Micro Italia, divisione DC/POS currently counts people, Key Account Manager Andrea Negroni and Sales Specialist Angelo Brenna, and will focus on the usual brands of DC/POS in Europe, among which Datalogic, Datamax-O’Neil, Intermec, Motorola Solutions and Zebra. Italy was the last major European country where Ingram Micro was present and did not own a DC/POS office.

Midwich launches with Sennheiser

United Kingdom : AV broadliner Midwich is now distributing the complete range of Sennheiser and Apart professional and installed sound audio solutions.

Michael Dressen joins Tech Data

Michael Dressen, who has long been ALSO’s director in Germany, has joined the ranks of its competitor Tech Data as director of its businesses in Austria and Germany. He replaces Isabelle Roux-Buisson who takes in charge the value (aka TD-Azlan) business in Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. On its side, Els Demeester, who once was in charge of Tech Data operations in DACH and Benelux regions, now focuses only on Benelux (Belgium and the Netherlands).

More training for Incom

Poland : just a few months after the opening of its first training centre in Wrocław, PC component and peripheral specialist Incom has decided to strengthen this business, by opening new education and business classes in its premises of Warszaw and Bielsko-Biała and expand its scope of training to cover technical, product and commercial issues.

TD Azlan appoints Nigel Dunn to head HP Business Unit

United Kingdom : network and security VAD TD Azlan has appointed Nigel Dunn as director of its HP Business Unit. Dunn, who has previously worked as General Manager of TD Azlan’s HP Value Storage Business and has a strong history with the company having worked at Frontline and TD Datech. More recently, Nigel has worked with Tech Data in a consultative role on strategic initiatives in Europe. Dunn will take full responsibility for all for day-to-day business on HP ESSN (servers, networking and storage) solutions, working with the existing Azlan HP team to drive business development initiatives and growth programmes for HP and its partner network.

Synergix launches with Intermec

Synergix, the auto-ID division of British AV broadliner Midwich, has entered into a distribution agreement with Intermec Technologies, a provider of rugged mobile business solutions. The agreement covers the distribution of Intermec’s supply chain solutions in Ireland and the United Kingdom. The move will see Intermec continue to expand its business in a number of strategic markets, such as distribution centres, field service, postal CEP and retail sectors.

DistriWAN to open in Paris

France : presenting its results on IT Partners, network and peripheral specialist DistriWAN has announced plans to move to bigger premises in Lyons and to open a sales office in Paris, to reach more efficiently its local resellers in the main French region.

Merlion stores on NetApp

Kazakhstan : broadliner Merlion has been granted official distributorship status by storage vendor NetApp, a brand which was distributed in Russia by Verysell before the acquisition of the company by Merlion.

Panda switches to full two-tier

United Kingdom : in a move to adopt a full two-tier distribution model, Spanish security editor Panda has appointed broadliners VIP Computers Centre and Westcoast as new distributors, beside software editor specialist Blue Solutions.

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise expands distribution agreement with FVC

Saudi Arabia : Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has extended its distribution agreement with network and security VAD FVC to include its Saudi office. The expanded agreement gives FVC distribution rights in Saudi Arabia for Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise’s complete range of enterprise solutions including Unified Communications (UC), telephony and data. As its authorized distributor, FVC will work with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise to provide increased levels of service to its customers, help build a high-level of customer satisfaction and shorten lead time for deliveries. FVC is responsible for developing and expanding Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise’s channel base in the Kingdom to better serve the needs of businesses in the kingdom.
