More Hirose for Abacus

Connector vendor Hirose has decided to expand its partnership with semiconductor specialist Avnet Abacus, previously limited to the United Kingdom, to whole Europe. This means Hirose products will be available through Avnet Abacus offices in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Turkey.
Samtec appoints Avnet Abacus for distribution throughout Europe

Avnet Abacus today announced that it has signed a pan-European franchise agreement with Samtec, a manufacturer of connectors. The agreement extends the successful partnership between the two companies to all European countries in which Avnet Abacus operates (Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Luxembourg, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the UK and Turkey) and takes the number of pan-European franchises held by Avnet Abacus to 43. Previously, Avnet Abacus was franchised for Samtec only in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Norway and Sweden.
Harwin extends its partnership with Avnet Abacus

Interconnection vendor Harwin has extended its partnership with semiconductor and electronic product specialist Avnet Abacus to Eastern Europe, thus covering the whole Europe with Avnet. Avnet Abacus is currently present in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Turkey.
Avnet merges Abacus and Time

American giant distributor Avnet, which had acquired its British competitor some months ago, has finally merged it with its Time division, bringing both into Avnet Abacus. This distributor, which is specialized in interconnect, passive, electromechanical, power supply and battery products, is a part of Avnet Electronics Marketing EMEA. It counts 450 employees and reached a turnover of €330m in 2008. Based in Germany, it is also present in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Italy, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Turkey. Local Avnet Time Hungarian and Irish subsidiaries have been seemingly quietly closed, these countries being from now on covered from Austria and the United Kingdom. Trident Microsystems, an Abacus subsidiary, has been merged with Avnet EMG Embedded division which is now present in Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
