Cebit 2010/Germany : Tandberg Data bankrupcy made much being written about it last summer. Some of its former employees did not lose time : thanks to their experience in backup market, they have launched in Germany a new company named Actidata. About 30-people stronge, covering all aspects of the business, from sales to marketing through technical, Actidata is managed by Frank Roszyk, the former managing director of Tandberg Data Germany. Its portfolio includes SMB-oriented storage and backup hardware : LTO readers and libraries, NAS and a new entry-level, hard-drive-based backup solution named RDX, which was launched in exclusivity on Planet Reseller.
Actidata has chosen a fully indirect strategy, around a network of broadliners and storage VADs. They all entrusted us ! », Frank Roszyk says.
Next steps in this international growth are France, Italy and Spain. All these countries should be covered before year's end. « Compared to our competitors, we are focused on SMB market. We are also a business on a human scale, which means easier exchanges with our reseller network. And we rely on open technologies, which helps our clients make their investments durable », Frank Roszyk explains. The company targets up to 10% of distribution market in covered countries within two years.
