Itway monitors and backup network devices with Backbox
2012-04-18
Israeli network management specialist Backbox has appointed network and security VAD Itway as official distributor for its network device configuration management and backup cloud system. The partnership covers almost all countries where Itway is present in Europe, except France (that is, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Turkey).

Itway catches a Bluecat
2012-04-05
Network and security VAD Itway has been chosen by IPAM vendor BlueCat Networks as South-European European distributor. BlueCat products are available through Itway offices in France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Turkey.

Spamina goes north
2011-02-28
Spanish cloud-antispam editor Spamina has started its European crusade by attacking French market. The company has chosen network and security VAD ITway as local distributor. It will face as local competitors French MailInBlack (which work both directly and indirectly - a potential drawback for channel-based growth plans) as well as German vendor AntiSpamEurope, which has entered local market a few months ago and is, functionality-speaking, a direct competitor. It differenciates itself from these competitors thanks to its local nodes. These nodes work on local mails, thus enabling privacy-conscious major accounts to use Spamina services more easily, as their mails never leave local territory. In France, AntiSpamEurope has chosen security VAD GS2i as local distributor. Spamina is also present in Spain, through ITway, Ingram Micro and Interbel, in Portugal with ITway and in Italy since a few months thanks to a partnership with, again, ITway. The company has also entered the British market in December, but still lacks a distributor there. Its next planned steps are Germany, where it will face a fierce competition from AntiSpamEurope, and Scandinavia, through a sales office in Sweden. Through its distributors, Spamina mainly targets VARs and integrators which will address SMB and major accounts. The company also works directly with telecom operators, which may use its solutions as part of their antispam services.

Ucopia bets on ITway
2010-08-10
Network access securization vendor Ucopia has signed a distribution partnership with network and security VAD Ucopia in France, Italy and Spain. The goal for the distributor is to offer packaged solutions around Trapeze products, which it already distributes. This partnership does not cover ITway offices in Greece, Portugal and Turkey.

DNS to change its name
2009-11-27
Germany : after the appointment of Eric Walter as new managing director, network and security VAD DNS, which is an Arrow subsidiary, is to be rechristianed into Arrow ECS at the beginning of 2010, as part of a new, centralized-identity strategy. This new name will also be used for all other DNS offices in Central and Eastern Europe (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom). The company has also appointed Claudia Ketzer as new marketing director in order to boost its marketing support for its resellers.

According to the last discussion we had with Arrow ECS President Laurent Sadoun, there is no official plan to switch rapidly Logix businesses to Arrow ECS name. Even if this has not been more recently confirmed, in light of these latest events.

Beside this, and according to DNS management, the company may also continue to grow in the coming months or years, through new acquisitions. This is all the more important as a rapid analysis shows that Arrow ECS lacks presence in Southern Europe. And there are indeed good targets for an acquisition in this region (Afina Sistemas and ITway, to name them), with very few overlaps with current Arrow ECS positions (in France, namely again). Time will tell who will be eaten…
