Westcon Group hires former Avaya Channel Chief to lead EMEA operations

Network and telecom VAD Westcon Group has tapped a former Avaya veteran to lead its newly converged European unified communications, European security and Africa, India and Middle East operations. Jeremy Butt brings to Westcon more than 20-years of sales and marketing expertise, leading successful worldwide channel efforts at Avaya and Motorola. As newly-appointed EMEA Executive VP, Jeremy Butt will bring together separate regional business units into an EMEA regional unit. Responsible for strengthening partner relationships and expanding the reach of Westcon's Unified Communications and Security business practices, he will drive profitability for new and existing customers and markets across the distributor's eco-system of partners.
Comstor certified as global Cisco Unified Computing System B-Series authorized configurator

Westcon Group has unveiled that its Cisco-specialized Comstor business unit has been certified globally as a Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) B-Series Authorized Configurator (UBAC). This designation will allow the creation of new, custom-built B-Series product offerings - enabling Comstor to meet the specific needs of Cisco resellers worldwide to drive new sales opportunities.

Westcon Group broadens global footprint with Spanish Westcon Convergence
2011-11-17 Spain : VAD Westcon Group has opened a new Westcon Convergence office in Madrid. The presence builds on Comstor's current offices in that city and is aimed at driving adoption of premier unified communications offerings across the Iberian region. The distributor's dedicated unified communications business practice works closely with a network of specialty resellers to deliver convergence offerings from Avaya, Extreme Networks, Acme Packet, Plantronics and Audiocodes, among others.
Comstor stores with Emulex

Cisco VAD Comstor has signed a distribution partnership with Emulex to target resellers working in the Cisco UCS datacentre space. Together with the recently launched Emulex Nexus Attach programme, this will help Comstor offer additional margin opportunities on combined OneConnect and Nexus deals when registered. The Emulex agreement complements Comstor's LEAP program, which supports Cisco's channel initiatives on its Unified Computing Technology (UCT) and Unified Fabric Technology (UFT). Emulex-Comstor partnership covers Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom.
