PMVmounts now exclusive to Midwich
2011-07-15 United Kingdom : AV specialist Midwich has unveiled an exclusive distribution deal with PMVmounts. PMVmounts products were sold by Midwich for over 5 years under the Mountech banner but have been re-branded to give Midwich exclusivity. The manufacturer recently took the decision to rebrand and launch a new website with the aim of increasing market share and brand awareness. Midwich have now been appointed as the exclusive distributor for PMVmounts range in the UK and Europe (through its offices in France and Ireland) which will continue to offer unique feature such as the "PMV Guarantee" (previously known as G-FIT).
A new boss for Midwich
2011-01-03 United Kingdom : Nick Culley, who was the managing director of AV broadliner Midwich, has quietly sold out its shares in the company and stepped down as director. He has been replaced by Stephen Fenby, who was until now financial director of the company. For the coming months and years, Stephen plans to further expand the business of the company overseas, beside Ireland and France, where Midwich owns Square One and Sidev.
Sidev displays with Casio
2010-12-06 France : AV specialist Sidev has expanded its videoprojector portfolio with Casio ultralight products and associated accessories.
Midwich crosses the Channel
2010-06-09 France : AV specialist broadliner Midwich has finally made its way out of the UK, by acquiring some assets of French professional video specialist Sidev. Despite goods results in the last years, Sidev was meeting difficulties because its mother company, service provider Soft Audiovisuel, was in administration since one year because of cash-flow difficulties. Last year and despite administrative slownesses and insufficient stocks because of receivership and inherent lack of credit, Sidev reached a €9m turnover.
Midwich expects much of this acquisition, as French education market is still under-equiped in projectors and interactive whiteboards : Sidev would thus become a growth relay to a British market to be riddled with investment cuts. Sidev will continue to be managed by its current director, Marc Piegay. ITdistri understands that Tech Data, through its AV business Maverick, was in the ranks for the acquisition of Sidev, which was looking for a buyer since at least 3 or 4 months.
Thanks to the sale of Sidev (and previously of Soft Broadcast), Soft Audiovisuel is out of receivership and will now focus on its core businesses : site management, museography, digital signage, video and audio conferencing and multimedia broadcast.
Sidev gets exclusive with Xantech
2009-06-01 France : audio and video specialist Sidev has secured an exclusive distribution partnership with Xantech, whose cabling, connectivity and accessories it will use to propose multi-room AV solution installation.
