2009-11-27 Germany : after the appointment of Eric Walter as new managing director, network and security VAD DNS, which is an Arrow subsidiary, is to be rechristianed into Arrow ECS at the beginning of 2010, as part of a new, centralized-identity strategy. This new name will also be used for all other DNS offices in Central and Eastern Europe (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom). The company has also appointed Claudia Ketzer as new marketing director in order to boost its marketing support for its resellers.
According to the last discussion we had with Arrow ECS President Laurent Sadoun, there is no official plan to switch rapidly Logix businesses to Arrow ECS name. Even if this has not been more recently confirmed, in light of these latest events.
Beside this, and according to DNS management, the company may also continue to grow in the coming months or years, through new acquisitions. This is all the more important as a rapid analysis shows that Arrow ECS lacks presence in Southern Europe. And there are indeed good targets for an acquisition in this region (Afina Sistemas and ITway, to name them), with very few overlaps with current Arrow ECS positions (in France, namely again). Time will tell who will be eaten…
