CDG Europe frees its subsidiaries
2009-10-26
Dutch thin computing and networking VAD CDG Europe has decided, on mutual agreement, to give back their freedom to its different foreign offices, through local MBOs. According to Kathleen Claes, manager of the Belgian office, this was decided to help local offices to better focus on their local reseller network, by allowing them to choose more precisely their vendors, strategies and working methods. UK office has become CDG UK, still under Oren Taylor management, and will focus on virtualization and cloud computing with new vendors like Atlantis Computing, Kaviza (also in Benelux) or Neocleus. It has also created the Cloud Group, a new Europe-oriented company which will focus on offering Desktone’s desktop-as-a-service to service providers. Finnish office has renamed itself to DistrIT and focuses on Expand Networks and Quest's vWorkspace. Belgian office, owned by Kathleen Claes and Oren Taylor, has become CDG Belux. It works closely with CDG UK and currently keeps most of CDG Europe virtualization and thin computing offer. It plans to head towards cloud computing in the coming month, by adjusting its catalog and signing new vendors. The company also keeps an eye on French market and is still eager into finding a good manager to cover it more efficiently, as it still works well with a few French resellers, mainly on eEye security solutions. The last office not to have taken its independance is CDG Swedish office, which remains for time being a subsidiary of CDG Europe.
