Magirus clinches first pan-EMEA distribution deal with Embotics
2012-02-07
Infrastructure VAD Magirus has signed a pan-European distribution agreement with Embotics, a Canadian company specialized in virtualisation and private cloud management. The partnership represents Embotics' first pan-EMEA distribution agreement. The deal gives Magirus' 6,000-strong European resellers access to Embotics V-Commander, a virtualisation and private cloud management solution, which has been designed and priced competitively to address the mid-market (250 virtual machines and above). Specifically, Embotics’ virtualisation and cloud management products present resellers with an out-of-the-box, cost effective software solution to sell consultancy services to help enterprises better manage their virtualised servers and move to efficient private cloud deployments. Embotics V-Commander should be available through Magirus offices in Austria, Benelux, France, Germany, Italy, Middle East, Portugal, Scandinavia, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Magirus gears up for Online VMware Training across EMEA
2011-08-16
Following the success of a pilot service in Italy, network and security VAD Magirus will make available next autumn a range of VMware Certified Professional (VCP) courses online in the whole EMEA region, through its offices in Austria, Benelux, France, Germany, Italy, Middle East, Portugal, Scandinavia, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The interactive web-based, instructor-led courses mirror exactly traditional classroom training, including a hands-on technology lab. As the largest online training portfolio outside VMware, the benefit to students is that they are able to undertake the training course from anywhere in the world with a reliable Internet connection. The VMware courses are designed to validate and certify IT professionals, giving them the technical capabilities and real-world experience needed to effectively install, manage, deploy and support VMware products. At a group level, Magirus will offer instructor-led courses across Europe in English, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish languages. The online courses underline Magirus' commitment to providing the best VMware training on the continent and Magirus is the only VMware European distributor to offer online training. It has more than 30 dedicated VMware trainers across Europe and is the largest VMware trainer in EMEA.
VCE appoints Magirus as authorised distributor for Vblock infrastructure platform
2011-06-16
Network, security and infrastructure VAD Magirus has been appointed as the Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) Company's first authorised distributor in EMEA for the Vblock infrastructure platform. Resellers across Europe will benefit from Magirus' existing business and technical expertise in Cisco, VMware and EMC data centre technologies. The Vblock Infrastructure Platform - which integrates technology from all three vendors and accelerates the adoption of converged infrastructure and cloud-based computing models - meets the growing demand for easy to deploy, integrated IT offerings, all supported by VCE.
VCE was formed last year by Cisco, VMware and EMC to bring to market Vblock platforms and solutions, the industry's first completely integrated IT offering to combine virtualisation, networking, computing, storage, security and management technologies. These pre-configured, integrated technologies take complexity and risk out of deploying virtualised data centre solutions and future private cloud deployments (see Note to Editors).
Magirus is certified as Cisco Unified Computing System B-Series Authorised Configurator
2010-12-14
Network and security VAD Magirus has become Cisco’s 1st distributor in Europe to ‘configure to order’ the Unified Computing System (UCS) B-Series servers. The certification for UCS B series Authorised Configurator ‘UBAC’ allows Magirus to tailor data centre solutions for both the UCS B and C series servers for ATP partners within five working days compared to what used to take up to one month.
This is significant as it is giving the channel far greater flexibility in how they can serve resellers and their customers with more sophisticated data centre solutions – integrating Cisco’s servers with a range of complementary software and hardware such as storage and virtualisation. Also, quality is a key where Magirus has had to meet high standards with each reseller’s Cisco data centre configuration being validated by Cisco.
