Huawei appoints Copaco
2012-04-10 Belgium : Chinese network infrastructure vendor Huawei continues its coverage of Europe and has chosen broadliner Copaco as first official distributor in the country for its network products.
Westcoast crosses the Channel
2012-03-22 Belgium : British broadliner Westcoast has acquired for an undisclosed amount its local counterpart Europea Trade for an undisclosed amount. The distributor has gone through difficult years, as its turnover and number of employees went down 33% in the last 3 years. Westcoast plans to keep all employees and activities under a new name, Westcoast-Europea, to enter the Top 3 in the country: an ambitious plan. The company is now managed by Dany Mestdag and Régis Vermeire, former directors of Copaco in Belgium. The French business, managed by Jean-Marc Bodson, should also be kept. The offer should be expanded on the B2B side, especially with Apple products in subdistribution.
Copaco finds a new director
2012-02-01 Belgium : Luc Schulze has been hired as new managing director by broadliner Copaco. He replaces Dany Mestdag who left a few weeks ago. Luc is not a newcomer in the local IT distribution, as he has worked in the past for Canon or Tech Data.
Copaco beheaded
2011-12-21 Belgium : Régis Vermeire, who was the country director of broadliner Copaco, has left the company. He'll focus on his own consulting business, V&R Consultancy. His follower is not yet known.
Two new brands for Copaco
2011-11-21 Benelux : broadliner Copaco has expanded its network and connectivity portfolio with Equip and LevelOne products. These brands are available through its resellers in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
