Servodata gets a new main shareholder

Storage VAD Servodata, which is present in Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia and which owns software specialist Abakus Distribution in Czech Republic and Slovakia, has welcomed the investment fund Genesis Capital as its new main shareholder. The goal of Genesis Capital is to help Servodata to grow in Europe.
Bakotech gets out of Ukraine

Ukrainian software VAD Bakotech has opened its first subsidiary abroad. For this expansion, the distribution has chosen Prag, to cover both Czech Republic and Slovakia. The company will focus also on software, albeit it is yet unknown with which vendors this office will have official partnerships. Bakotech has not unveiled either its goals in terms of turnover in this region. Bakotech manager in Prag is Jan Romančenko, who has previously worked for Servodata or DNS in the country.
Servodata reviews its management
2011-02-23 Czech Republic : storage VAD Servodata has appointed Iveta Babulenková as managing director of its Solutia division (which focuses on sales and support of opensource and Adobe solutions), and Tomáš Šilar as managing director of its Disti division (in charge of EMC infrastructure products). Both divisions were previously managed by Martin Malý, who as commercial director will focus on other axes of development.
Avnet to acquire the HP division of Servodata
2010-03-23 Czech Republic : multispecialist Avnet has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire certain assets of value-added distributor Servodata a.s. The acquired assets will be integrated into the local operations of Avnet Technology Solutions. This acquisition brings Avnet’s reseller partners in the local market a broader product offering and additional technical expertise enabling resellers to expand their value and grow faster. Through this acquisition Avnet will be able to provide servers, storage systems, software and services of HP to resellers in the Czech Republic and builds on Avnet's expansion strategy in Central Europe as well as extending its successful partnership with HP. The acquisition is subject to customary regulatory approval and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2010.
