Five 4 U goes south

France : just a few weeks after announcing an exclusive distribution partnership with the Italian color management specialist Barbieri Electronic covering Benelux and France, the Dutch Mac specialist Five 4 U, which also owns a subsidiary in Belgium, opens its French office to challenge its local competitors Apacabar, CUF, Dr Bott and Powerdata. Its five French employees, currently managed by the Dutch president Rien Slagter, are based in Paris. They target Apple Premium and Authorized Resellers, Apple Solution Experts as well as French traditional retailers and resellers with a full offer of consumer and B2B accessories and graphic solutions. Through its show-room, Five 4 U plans to train its channel partners on technical issues. The distributor will also have a selection of services around the products it distributes (training or installations for example). This offer targets resellers, whenever they do not have time, personal or competencies to help their end customers on color management, workflow, font management, DAM installation. "We plan to reach a turnover of €3-4m for the first year", Rien Slagter says. French resellers will be services in 24h through the 4000sqm Dutch warehouses of the distributor. Five 4 U also opens in France its value-added division Grafiplus, which is specialized on the graphic arts hardware and software market. Grafiplus starts with an exclusive distribution partnership on Enfocus software solutions.

Five 4 U prints with Oki

Five 4 U, which is present in Belgium and Netherlands, has signed an agreement to distribute high end color laser printers from Oki (source : ComputerPartner Nederland).
