Avnet Abacus signs Pan-Euro deal with Murata

Murata has signed a Pan-European franchise agreement with semiconductor specialist Avnet Abacus. Covering Murata's range of passive products, the agreement builds on a 20-year relationship between the two companies. Previously, Avnet Abacus has covered selected European territories for Murata passives and has held a Pan-European agreement for the company’s power solutions products. This extended agreement further enhances Avnet Abacus' position as a major distributor of Murata products. Avnet Abacus will more particularly push Murata's ceramic-based components to a wider European design engineering audience, through its offices in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
Avnet promotes corporate officers
2011-12-22 United States : multispecialist Avnet has unveiled two corporate officer promotions. Steve Phillips, CIO, has been promoted to a corporate officer position of senior vice president for Avnet, Inc. from vice president. In addition, Graeme Watt, president of Avnet Technology Solutions EMEA, was elected as a new corporate vice president for Avnet, Inc.
Avnet Abacus signs ‘green technology’ battery deal with Cymbet

Avnet Abacus has signed a Pan-European distribution agreement with Cymbet Corporation, the leader in solid-state energy storage solutions for microelectronic systems, to distribute Cymbet’s complete range of rechargeable solid state batteries, power management devices, and evaluation kits. This will include Cymbet’s EnerChip solid state batteries (SSB) and development tools, the new EnerChip EP energy processor, the universal energy harvesting EVAL-09 kit, and the EnerChip CC RF Induction Charger EVAL-11 kit. Cymbet products are available through Avnet Abacus offices in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
