Mega-merge in EDM market
French EDM group Spigraph International has finalised the acquisition of 100% of the shares in its Swiss counterpart Dicom International for an undisclosed amount. Already leaders of technologies linked to document capture and processing in their respective markets, Dicom and Spigraph are uniting their know-how over more than 20 countries through more than 6,000 resellers : Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dubai, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Morocco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia and the United Kingdom. This merger gives rise to the biggest Value Added Distributor (VAD) on the document capture market in the EMEA zone (Europe, Middle East, Africa). With this new group, the biggest scanner manufacturers and software publishers on the capture market are sure of securing a particularly efficient shop window to durably develop the market. As the core of its ecosystem, the new VAD will ensure optimisation of their product ranges and the marketing and sales dynamics that only a leader can provide. Also, Dicom/Spigraph Group customers and partners will now have access to a wider range of professional products and services, and the expertise that goes with it, which is unique on the document capture market. The promotion of this portfolio relies on a stable organisation of over 400 people, and a turnover of €130 million. Further to this merger, Wayne Davey, previously CEO of Spigraph, becomes CEO of the group. Joachim Froning, previously CEO at Dicom, becomes Senior Vice President of Dicom/Spigraph Distribution. The group's head office will remain in Spigraph's headquarters in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, France. No details of the reorganisation have yet been published regarding the countries where both companies are present: Belgium (20 km between Dicom and Spigraph), France (Dicom near Paris, Spigraph near Grenoble), Germany (80 km between Dicom and Spigraph), the Netherlands (50 km between Dicom and Spigraph), Sweden (Dicom near Göteborg, Spigraph near Stockholm), Switzerland (50 km between Dicom and Spigraph) and the United Kingdom (50 km between Dicom and Spigraph, both west of London). Until further notice, the Dicom brand ought to be kept.
Roland Apelt joins Fujitsu
Roland Apelt, who has been a longtime employee of EDM VAD Dicom, lately as Vice President Sales & Services, has left the distributor to join document scanner vendor Fujitsu PFU Imaging as CIS regional manager.
DICOM and InoTec commence international distribution partnership
EDM VAD DICOM has started to market the complete range of InoTec production scanners in the EMEA region. Apart from hardware, DICOM also provides a broad spectrum of service offerings. Resellers can rely on a technical support based on technician training provided by InoTec. The first joint presentation has been done on French trade exhibition for document and information management "Documation", which was held in Paris on March 21st and 22nd. At the centre of the presentation was be the new SCAMAX 4x3 series of document scanners. InoTec products and services are available through DICOM offices in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dubai, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the newly created office in South Africa.
Pingar and Dicom partner to manage unstructured data
From the 2011 SharePoint Conference in California, Pingar, a provider of unstructured data management solutions, has unveiled a partnership with EDM VAD Dicom to provide data capture solutions that help enterprises gain business value from unstructured documents. Dicom will work to identify opportunities where Pingar technology can be leveraged and create reseller awareness. Pingar’s API will enable Dicom to rapidly create custom applications and solutions to help businesses gain greater business value from unstructured data. Because Pingar’s API is scalable, lightweight and easy to deploy, solutions created with Pingar can integrate with any enterprise deployment, either on premise or in the cloud. Dicom will develop solutions to assist with workgroup and departmental scanning, mobile scanning and image capture and high volume capture. Pingar's solutions will be available through Dicom in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Middle East, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Dicom International and KnowledgeLake sign EMEA partnership agreement
EDM VAD Dicom International has signed a partnership agreement with US-based KnowledgeLake. As part of the agreement, more than 3000 Dicom sales partners in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (through its offices in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Middle East, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) will receive access to the KnowledgeLake document capture and imaging solutions for Microsoft SharePoint environments, which are already in use today by more than 2 million licensed users in 35 countries. KnowledgeLake offers an extensive portfolio of fully integrated Microsoft SharePoint capture and imaging products as well as industry-specific solutions enabling companies of all sizes to fully exploit the efficiency and cost-benefit advantages of SharePoint-based Enterprise Content Management platforms. KnowledgeLake products are easy to implement and administrate, and, by integrating their products into the Microsoft infrastructure that already exists in most companies, help provide a particularly affordable solution for managing documents and optimising document-based business processes. For Dicom, signing the distribution deal with KnowledgeLake is a strategically significant step towards the continued expansion of its product and solution portfolio. The independence and breakaway achieved by Dicom this past June from Kofax (with which Dicom still maintains close business relations as the main sales partner for Kofax Express und VirtualReScan) opened the door to additional document capture solution providers. This in turn opens up highly interesting new business fields and sales opportunities for Dicom's sales partners, which will continue to drive the strong growth currently underway in this segment.
