France : after Banque Magnétique, Irish group DCC has strengthened its retail arm in the country by acquiring Comtrade. DCC will initially acquire a 74% stake of the company for €11.4m, and will get the remaining shares in 2013, for a price based on Comtrade's results on March, 31st of that year and a maximum deferred consideration payable of €9.8m. The acquisition must first be approved by French authorities. According to our informations, Stefan Riesser, the founder of Comtrade, will stay in the company. Also, there seems to be no plans to merge Banque Magnétique and Comtrade : DCC has such a configuration in the United Kingdom, where its two retail arms, Gem Distribution and Micro Peripherals, are local competitors. In France, DCC also owns storage and security VAD Altimate.
