Spigraph promotes Peter de Boer
French EDM distributor Spigraph has promoted Peter de Boer to Senior Vice President EMEA, Spigraph Network. Previously Vice President, Region North (Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, UK and Ireland), Peter brings over 15 years of expertise in sales, business development and management to the Group. Peter joined Spigraph in March 2012 with the responsibility to launch and expand Spigraph's presence in the Benelux, and he continued to steer the region in new directions as Vice President. Under his watch, Peter has grown regional revenue, expanded Spigraph's solutions business, and developed close relationships with Spigraph's strategic partners, reseller community and customers. Peter will remain based in Spigraph's Houten, Netherlands office. "I am pleased to promote Peter to this critically important role, especially as he has been instrumental in Spigraph's successful expansion and development of our business", says Daniel Chautard, President and CEO of Spigraph Group. "As EMEA SVP and sales leader for Spigraph Network's hardware, software and services business, Peter will be able to leverage his strong relationships, business skills and considerable experience for the benefit of our entire organization.").
One year after the acquisition of its competitor Dicom, EDM VAD Spigraph has finalized its reorganization. The name "Dicom" disappears, and all subsidiaries are now known as Spigraph. As the Dicom name was better known in some countries, the distributor is planning some communication around the rebranding, as well as a new partner program, named PlusPac Club Spigraph.
The distributor is now organized around three BUs. The first, Spigraph Network, provides professional document scanners and document capture software from all leading vendors as well as related business services via a network of more than 6,000 authorised partners in over 40 countries through offices in Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Dubai, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Morocco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia and the United Kingdom. It weights about 2/3 of the turnover of the group.
The second, DTS (for Document Technology Services) is dedicated to delivering after sales services to the document capture and enterprise content management market (maintenance, installation, training, helpdesk, hotline, etc.). Besides fulfilling the service requirements of all Spigraph Group customers, DTS provides white label services to third-party vendors and distributors that want to set up an own service business under an own brand without the need for any capital investments. DTS is able to cover any of the 40 countries where Spigraph is present, thanks to its teams organized in geographical and language clusters. DTS weights about 20 % of the turnover of Spigraph Group.
The third and last, named Alos Solutions, is present in Germany and Switzerland. It integrates end-to-end document capture and enterprise content management solutions directly to customers of all sizes in a wide variety of industry verticals. Physically separated from the Spigraph Networks offices in these countries, it is managed as any other customer. Alos Solutions weights about €17m, that is about 15% of the group turnover, with about 60 employees. Alos Solutions may be extended to Benelux, France and the United Kingdom, upon the acquisition opportunities the group may find in these countries.
The warehouses, which are handled by a subcontractor, have been dispatched between the United Kingdom, France (for Southern Europe), Germany (for Northern Europe) and Dubai (for the Middle East), in order to answer as efficiently as possible to the needs of the customers in any country.
Despite a tough year, Spigraph Group has reached a turnover of €110m for 2014, 25 % of which being done in France. For 2015, the new target is €124m, with a strong focus on the improvement of the bottom line, which ought to be realized through the extension of the after-sales services largely beyond the French market.
France: EDM VAD Spigraph Group had unveiled a capital investment by Tessi Group, which will join Spigraph's investment partners as a minority shareholder. ISATIS Capital, Spigraph Group's financial shareholder since March 2011 and specialist in the accompaniment of innovative growth SMEs, has historically supported the company’s vigorous expansion. This year, Spigraph achieved a major step in the development of an international group with the integration of DICOM in early 2014. The injection of capital from Tessi Group, a French specialist in flow processing (€239 million turnover) will allow Spigraph Group to continue its aggressive commercial drive in a market demanding greater added value from its partners. Spigraph welcomes the investment from Tessi, which brings a new balance to its shareholding, the main block of which is still held by Daniel Chautard, Chairman of Spigraph Group, and his management team. As a complement to Isatis, Tessi will bring numerous synergies linked to the document solutions market. Spigraph's objective over the coming years is to consolidate the very strong growth of recent times (turnover has increased 6-fold in just 4 years) and support development in high-potential and high-value markets. The group will continue to create value across its ecosystem by capitalising on its very strong industry relationships.
Mega-merge in EDM market
French EDM group Spigraph International has finalised the acquisition of 100% of the shares in its Swiss counterpart Dicom International for an undisclosed amount. Already leaders of technologies linked to document capture and processing in their respective markets, Dicom and Spigraph are uniting their know-how over more than 20 countries through more than 6,000 resellers : Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dubai, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Morocco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia and the United Kingdom. This merger gives rise to the biggest Value Added Distributor (VAD) on the document capture market in the EMEA zone (Europe, Middle East, Africa). With this new group, the biggest scanner manufacturers and software publishers on the capture market are sure of securing a particularly efficient shop window to durably develop the market. As the core of its ecosystem, the new VAD will ensure optimisation of their product ranges and the marketing and sales dynamics that only a leader can provide. Also, Dicom/Spigraph Group customers and partners will now have access to a wider range of professional products and services, and the expertise that goes with it, which is unique on the document capture market. The promotion of this portfolio relies on a stable organisation of over 400 people, and a turnover of €130 million. Further to this merger, Wayne Davey, previously CEO of Spigraph, becomes CEO of the group. Joachim Froning, previously CEO at Dicom, becomes Senior Vice President of Dicom/Spigraph Distribution. The group's head office will remain in Spigraph's headquarters in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, France. No details of the reorganisation have yet been published regarding the countries where both companies are present: Belgium (20 km between Dicom and Spigraph), France (Dicom near Paris, Spigraph near Grenoble), Germany (80 km between Dicom and Spigraph), the Netherlands (50 km between Dicom and Spigraph), Sweden (Dicom near Göteborg, Spigraph near Stockholm), Switzerland (50 km between Dicom and Spigraph) and the United Kingdom (50 km between Dicom and Spigraph, both west of London). Until further notice, the Dicom brand ought to be kept.
