It will also focus on the systems and storage portfolio of Fujitsu Technology Solutions, which it already has a relationship with. Empa says the scope of the unit will extend to software, security, storage, systems and networking solutions. The unit is being led by Sathya Murthy, who previously worked for Tech Data, Novell and more recently Magirus, where he managed the company's VMware business (source : ITP Middle East).

Aptec subsidiary gains Cisco rights in KSA
2010-01-08 Saudi Arabia : Cisco has widened its channel supply chain in Saudi Arabia by awarding authorised distribution rights to Track Distribution, a subsidiary of Aptec Holdings. Local distribution sales are currently managed by Al Jammaz and Logicom. Track says it will be able to provide Cisco with comprehensive coverage of the Saudi reseller channel as it operates offices and warehouses in Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar. The partnership means Track now has Cisco rights for the entire Gulf region, as it is already an official distributor for the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, as well as Yemen, Pakistan and Afghanistan (source : ITP Middle East).
