CA hands south-eastern Europe to Logicom

Broadliner Logicom, via its Greek subsidiary Logicom Solutions, signed an agreement with CA Europe for the exclusive representation of the solutions and products of CA Technologies in Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, FYROM, Greece, Malta and Romania. According to the agreement, Logicom Solutions will employ the staff that CA employed in those countries. Apart from the employment and the strengthening of CA staff, no other significant investments will be demanded in the infrastructure of Logicom Solutions.
Logicom to distribute Hitachi hard drives

Logicom has moved to expand its storage portfolio by signing a distribution agreement with Hitachi Global Storage Technologies for Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, the Middle East (through Logicom offices in Dubai, Jordan, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia) and Turkey. The partnership - which comes less than a year after Logicom split from Seagate - will see the distributor offer Hitachi GST's hard disk drives and external storage products to channel customers around the region (source : ITP Middle East).
Logicom acquires NewCytech

Cyprus : value-added broadliner Logicom has acquired for €3.015m 36.77% of issued shares of Cyprus-based NewCytech Business Solutions, which is actively involved in the sector of IT services. Logicom has also signed an acquisition plan of all other issued shares of Newcytech for €7.95m, readjusted to the basis of the future results of Newcytech. NewCytech also is a distributor, thanks to its partnership with Acer. Logicom has an option NewCytech’s range of services includes high availability, storage and backup, disaster recovery, security, OS support and implementation, networking and communications, wireless, IP telephony, maintenance, consulting, help-desk and outsourcing around brands like IBM, HP, Lenovo, Acer, Cisco, Microsoft and Oracle. As Logicom is becoming more and more a VAD thanks to its partnerships with Cisco, HP, IBM or Trend Micro, NewCytech Business Solutions acquisition is logical as it should allow it provide additional services required to help its VARs and integrators.
