DVCOM details channel expansion plans
2010-10-08 Middle East : open source telecom VAD DVCOM has revealed plans to move to a centralised office and operational facility in the UAE by the end of the year. The company plans to build a new office-cum-warehouse in Jebel Ali Free Zone by the end of this year to cater to the needs of the region by having an extensive distribution network and branch offices in prospective countries. Currently the region is supported by four warehousing facilities in UAE. With the new logistics centre, supply chain operations would be managed from a single point, which would serve the channel better, by reducing lead time and ensuring a richer mixture of stock on the ground for resellers. As well as the UAE, the company has operations in Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia (although not much details are available), and intends to open at least three more branch offices in the MENA region during 2011, in Sudan, Libya and Yemen. DVCOM has also supplemented its regional expansion with the enlargement of its product portfolio, thanks to a strategic partnership with connectivity and VoIP vendor Patton Electronics (source : ITP Middle East).
