Westcon-Comstor Expands Microsoft Specialist Sales Team

Security, collaboration, network and datacenter VAD Westcon-Comstor has expanded its Microsoft business unit. The VAD now supports its reseller partners with an eight-member sales team dedicated to the marketing of Azure, Office 365 and MS teams and, together with the channel, sets the course for a successful UCC and cloud business at regular webinars and workshops.

"Since our start as a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider about a year ago, we have established ourselves as one of the leading Microsoft distributors in the German-speaking region and continuously expanded our customer base", explains Marianne Nickenig, Senior General Manager UCC and Cloud DACH-EE at Westcon UCC. "Today, resellers can register with us as CSP partners with just three clicks and purchase a wide range of Microsoft solutions via our BlueSky platform. When they enter the cloud business, however, these partners are dependent on comprehensive, individual support both online and offline - and we can now offer this with our Microsoft team."

As a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider, Westcon-Comstor enables Microsoft retailers to obtain, manage and bill the entire Microsoft Cloud portfolio via the BlueSky platform - including the entire license handling. This makes it easy for resellers to optimize their processes throughout the entire lifecycle and identify attractive cross-selling and up-selling potential. Westcon-Comstor is also authorised to consolidate and automatically bill cloud services (either "Invoicing on behalf of Microsoft" or "Billing on behalf of Microsoft").

In order to ensure optimum support for the Microsoft channel, Westcon-Comstor has now brought two new Business Development Managers on board: Mirco Poeplau, as BDM with a focus on Microsoft Azure, supports the specialist trade partners in expanding the Microsoft Cloud business and advises them on solution design, project planning and licensing. As BDM for Microsoft UCC, Sascha Reiß supports the partners in further developing their business in the areas of modern workplaces.

At the same time, the Westcon Comstor teams in Austria and Switzerland were also strengthened: in Austria, Guido Barthelmes is now available to customers as Business Development Manager for UCC and Cloud in the development of their projects. In Switzerland, Ingo Donath as Business Development Manager UCC is responsible for the development of the Westcon-Comstor partner landscape.

Existing and new Microsoft partners can access a wide range of attractive value-added services at any time via the new team of experts. The services offered range from sophisticated global deployment and logistics services with German-language support to joint marketing activities and pre-sales consulting to support in the installation and configuration of the systems. In the wake of implementation, VAD offers tailor-made support services with binding SLAs.

As an authorised Microsoft Learning Partner with its own academy, Westcon-Comstor also prepares its specialist trade partners for marketing the Microsoft portfolio through regular online and offline training courses. The events are aimed partly at cloud and Microsoft newcomers and partly at resellers and MSPs who have already gained experience - and provide participants with all the knowledge required for successful involvement in the cloud.
