Broadliner Ingram Micro has announced that Cisco Umbrella, a security platform that protects against online threats, is now available through its Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace in the Netherlands. Cisco Umbrella automatically detects current and emerging threats by recognising patterns in Internet activity.
Cisco processes billions of Internet requests from millions of users every day. Cisco not only has datacentres around the world, but works with top Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to reduce the routes between any network in the world and their datacentres - giving your customer even faster Internet access. Cisco Umbrella provides businesses with effective protection against online threats. Umbrella analyses information for patterns, detects anomalies and creates models to predict whether a domain or IP address is harmful, after which attacks are automatically blocked. In addition, the security platform uses DNS to stop threats on all ports and protocols - even direct-to-IP connections. Malware is stopped before it reaches the network or endpoints. If a device does get infected, Umbrella ensures that no malicious servers are connected.
"Umbrella is very important to Cisco within the complete security portfolio. This cloud security solution is unique because of the simplicity and speed of implementation. Thanks to the close cooperation with Cisco, we can welcome Umbrella to our Cloud Marketplace, which further shortens the implementation time for the end customer", says Sjors Vonk, Business Development Manager Cisco at Ingram Micro.
Michel Schaalje, Director of Security Cisco Netherlands, adds: "Cisco Umbrella is a powerful and easy to implement security platform. Powered by Threat Intelligence from Cisco Talos, Umbrella offers the strongest online security in the market. This cloud service offers users protection everywhere, both in the office and on the road."
