Tech Data (Nasdaq: TECD) today announced that it has extended its agreement with the data breach prevention provider SpyCloud to 15 additional countries in Europe (Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, in addition to its original availability in Austria and Germany), making the data breach prevention solutions available to a significantly wider portfolio of customers.
SpyCloud helps small and mid-sized businesses detect data breaches and prevent account takeover attacks by sending real-time alerts when employee or company assets have been compromised. The platform makes use of human intelligence in order to recover stolen credentials before they are posted on forums, thereby reducing the exposure of a security breach.

David Ellis, vice president, Security and Mobility Solutions, Europe at Tech Data, said: “Tech Data has extended its partnership with SpyCloud across Europe, giving our partners the opportunity to help a larger number of organisations combat the use of stolen credentials. Furthermore, this agreement supports our strategy to invest in next-generation technologies and strengthen our portfolio of products, solutions and services that enable those technologies. According to a recent Verizon Data Breach Investigation Report, 81% of hacking-related breaches stemmed from either stolen and/or weak passwords, and combatting those who use stolen credentials is very difficult for organisations. Offering SpyCloud’s comprehensive solutions for breach discovery ensures organisations have a complete overview of all stolen credentials, and helps them automate their security breach processes.”
Ted Ross, CEO and co-founder at SpyCloud, said: “we have an effective approach to data breach discovery and accomplish this through an early-warning breach detection service powered by a world-class team of intelligence analysts. We consider Tech Data to be the most trusted distributor in Europe and, after our success working with them in Germany and Austria, we are pleased to work with them to deliver our solutions to a much wider audience in Europe.”
Serving as a beacon for the IT channel, Tech Data provides expertise and key insights in next-generation technologies - cloud, IoT and analytics – and the necessary security to enable those technologies in order to help customers generate and capture growth opportunities in an ever-changing technology landscape.
