
Russian broadliner Merlion has signed a direct distribution partnership agreement with Avast Software - one of the pioneers in the development of antivirus solutions. Founded in the Czech Republic in 1988, Avast Software is currently one of the global leaders in the information security market, with about 400 million users worldwide.
By the terms of the distribution contract, Merlion gets the right to distribute all Avast products for end users (Avast Internet Security, Avast Premier, Avast Ultimate, Avast Cleanup, Avast SecureLine VPN), as well as possible promising dematerialised products, as Merlion emphasises the great potential of Avast solutions when they are distributed by subscription and by providing electronic keys. In addition, Avast products have all the chances to perfectly fit into the unique MerliONCloud cloud ecosystem launched this year by the distributor.
“For us, expanding the information security portfolio is part of the software business development strategy”, comments Mikhail Stepanyuk, director of the software department of Merlion. "Avast solutions take into account current threats, because they rely on the operational analysis of activity in the global network, which is carried out using advanced tools from the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. At the same time, for us, as a distributor, it is extremely important that the vendor seriously targets the Russian market, where its share, according to the developer, is (by the number of users) about 25%. We hope that thanks to our common efforts and the wide channel of Merlion we will be able to strengthen the positions of our companies, as well as the security of Russian enterprises - customers of our many partners."
