Bitdefender, an international provider of cyber security solutions protecting more than 500 million users worldwide, has signed a distribution agreement with French VAD Config. Config, a major player in the IT solutions distribution market for more than 20 years, will distribute the entire Bitdefender enterprise range in Switzerland as well as in French-speaking Africa through its offices in Algeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Morocco, Sénégal and Tunisia: from endpoint, data center and hybrid cloud protection solutions to the new network traffic analysis security solution, Bitdefender Network Traffic Security Analytics.
"Config has a very strong experience on the African territory. This is a major opportunity to strengthen our position in the cyber security market in the Maghreb, but also in all French-speaking African countries. Config being an international company, we have also entrusted them with the distribution of our solutions in French-speaking Switzerland", says Christian Stanford, Senior Director EMEA Channels at Bitdefender.
Rafik Hajem, Senior Managing Director Central Europe, Middle-East & North Africa, explains: "Config's sales teams are based locally in many North and West African countries, which allows them to perfectly understand local markets and adapt to the specific needs of these regions, and thus to be a trusted partner for its resellers. This partnership is perfectly in line with our desire to expand rapidly in the African and Swiss markets, through the recruitment of value-added resellers specialized in cybersecurity. Config will be of great help to us on this aspect."
Config is positioning itself as a distributor offering real added value to its network of resellers, with services being the key element of its offer, particularly in the areas of cybersecurity, Wi-Fi, log management and load balancing. Zouhir El Kamel, CEO of Config, explains his choice to add Bitdefender to his portfolio of publishers: "of course, we are looking for superior quality solutions to add to our catalogue. This is the case with Bitdefender, which is a major provider for the security of physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures. Its technological lead and close technological partnerships with players such as VMware, Nutanix and Citrix convinced us. But beyond the technological aspect, we felt a real desire on the part of Bitdefender's teams to enter into a trust-based, win-win and long-term partnership."
The Config and Bitdefender teams have already defined their common roadmap for 2019, with the implementation of initial sales and marketing actions, such as certification training, the organization of reseller and end customer seminars or participation in national events, such as the Cybersecurity Forum in Marrakech, from 12 to 15 June 2019.
