British broadliner Westcoast has extended its partnership with Samsung with the appointment of the full portfolio of large format screens and displays.
“I couldn’t be more delighted”, commented Alex Tatham, Westcoast’s Managing Director. “It’s something that our team have been working on for some time and whilst we have maintained a relationship in the past, Westcoast’s outstanding growth in B2B commercial business to UK and Irish resellers was attractive to Samsung’s team. We will be focusing our efforts around enabling the wide range of Westcoast’s commercial customers to deliver market leading display technology into the many corporate customers that have struggled to compete with AV specialists in the past – our role is to enable them to compete. Our new facility in Andover has provided the capability to store and deliver to site cost effectively. And the energy that Westcoast have shown has clearly impressed Samsung.”
Damon Crowhurst, Display Head, Samsung Electronics UK, added: “in a market that has experienced consolidation over the past few years, it became imperative that we sought a third distributor for our Signage line-up of displays, to complement the excellent work that Midwich and Exertis do for us already. Westcoast and Samsung have long had a strong and established relationship across the wider business, and knowing the investment they are putting into building out their signage team, we are excited and confident of an exciting 2020 together.”
Westcoast’s contract will be product managed by Richard Carr, Displays Business Manager: He says: “we have recruited specialist sales staff to overlay the entire business, but this is technology that is ever more prevalent, and all Westcoast customers will be enabled. We are proud to represent Samsung in their drive for increased breadth and a wider access to their outstanding technology.”
Existing customers should engage with their Westcoast account managers with new customers being handled by the Display Specialist team.
“There are no restrictions where we might sell Samsung displays but our system integrator team, corporate reseller and services teams will be busy”, added Alex. “It’s an early Christmas present from Samsung – and one that Westcoast will unwrap with glee!”
