After setting up a base in August 2018, server assembler and distributor Boston has formalised its South African entity as Boston IT Solutions.

Boston Limited has been providing cutting-edge, high-performance technology and are one of the largest Supermicro distributors since 1992. As well as being awarded ‘The Best Global Strategic Alliance and Partnership' from Supermicro, Boston IT Solutions South Africa are on hand with a variety of servers, storage and workstations as well as products from cloud partner, vScaler, to help meet the growing needs and demands of customers. From HPC to Big Data, AI to Deep Learning, Boston helps create a bespoke solution to maximise output for workload. Alongside showcasing products, Boston have remote-access available to their Boston Labs facilities for businesses in South Africa who want to test all the latest technologies that Boston have to offer.

South Africa is already Africa’s largest data centre market, accounting for 60% of the continent’s available Multi-Tenant Data Centre (MTDC) power supply so Boston are confident to progress operations there. According to BusinessWire, the Africa data centre market is likely to grow at a CAGR of around 14% up to 2024 offering huge opportunities for a company with such capabilites.

Manoj Nayee, Managing Director Boston Limited, says: “this announcement marks an important moment for our team in South Africa and we are delighted to be able to offer our customers a more direct route to purchase. I am also looking forward to our digital HPC Roadshow in Johannesburg this week.
