Telecom VAD BusinessCom, based in Veghel in the Netherlands and Merchtem in Belgium, has recently taken over all activities of Futura ICT (formerly Nextel Nederland). The acquisition expands BusinessCom's product portfolio with various IT products and strengthens the company's market position in the Benelux. The takeover will increase the number of employees to more than 50.
The acquisition is the result of BusinessCom's vision and growth strategy. The acquisition of Televersal in 2015 already resulted in strong growth in products and customers for BusinessCom and over the years this has been further deepened through cross-selling and the diversity of products in addition to the cloud portfolio. With the acquisition of Futura ICT, BusinessCom customers benefit from the addition to the existing portfolio, especially because of the WiFi solutions. Futura ICT offers customers a complete telecom and ICT product range, complemented by cloud solutions.
Pieter van Eldonk, managing director of BusinessCom, says: "after the previous acquisition of Televersal, we used the past 5 years to build a new organization. The team acts as one family, the internal processes are fully optimised and where necessary automated. Logistic services have been broadened in the broadest sense of the word, not only by being open longer and more often, but also by our e-warehousing solution. This enables us to keep products that we do not carry ourselves in stock for our customers. Finally, our My-Connect proposition has put us in pole position with various resellers, but also suppliers. Looking at our current portfolio, we mainly missed data products and started looking for a party where people work with the same DNA as at BusinessCom. I'm convinced that we found it with Futura ICT. I'm extremely proud that this acquisition has been completed and I'm convinced that this will make us an even more important and stronger player in the telecom, ICT and cloud market."
Peter Roelens, CEO and founder of Nextel, adds: "I am convinced that the Businesscom/Futura combination will give both our customers an extra boost and give them a greater lead in their market. Moreover, Businesscom will be a very good environment for the Futura employees to further develop their ambitions and creativity."
BusinessCom and Futura ICT both use one-stop-shop strategies. In addition to brands such as My-Connect, Mitel, Unify, ClearVox, Jabra, Gigaset, Ascom, Spectralink and NETGEAR, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, Extreme, Barracuda, Cynet, Altitude, NEC and Lancom are now added to the BusinessCom portfolio. All Futura ICT employees of the business division will also be transferred to BusinessCom. BusinessCom currently serves approximately 1,400 resellers in both the SME and the large business segment and is expanding this further with the acquisition of Futura ICT.
