Swiss group Competec, which owns broadliner Alltron, has acquired 100% of the shares in Schoch Vögtli AG as well as all its employees based in Winterthur, Aarburg and Basel.

In recent years Competec has already built up a high level of product range and sales expertise in office and business supplies in-house. Since 2009, the Group has organised its sales activities to commercial and institutional end customers in its own Brack.ch Business division. By acquiring the traditional company Schoch Vögtli, whose history dates back to 1882, Competec is strengthening its B2B business. "We are very pleased to welcome the Schoch Vögtli team to the Competec family. The combination of Brack.ch Business with the strengths of Schoch Vögtli will add strength to our growth strategy in the business customer offering", said Martin Lorenz, CEO of the Competec Group. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Competec will take over all 90 employees. For the customers of Schoch Vögtli AG, all conditions, delivery terms and contact persons will remain unchanged. Schoch Vögtli will also continue to deliver mainly with its own fleet of delivery vehicles. Competec intends to integrate the Schoch Vögtli warehouse into the Willisau logistics centre within the next few months. Thomas Schoch, CEO and owner of Schoch Vögtli AG, is handing over the reins. Markus Bossart, the current Head of Sales at Schoch Vögtli AG, will take over the operational management of Schoch Vögtli during the integration phase. Thomas Schoch accompanies the transition in an advisory capacity and at the same time takes a seat on the Board of Directors of the Competec Group.

The pressure to consolidate in the industry and the large upcoming investments prompted Thomas Schoch to decide on a successor at an early stage: "For a medium-sized supplier in an industry dominated by global conglomerates, the long-term prospects for the future would have been challenging and associated with high investments in product range, logistics and IT. The Competec Group has the size and strength to offer both the employees and the customers of Schoch Vögtli AG a long-term perspective and to further expand the business", says Thomas Schoch. According to Schoch, Competec was his preferred partner for the succession. Common values, such as a strong customer focus, would unite the two Swiss and privately owned companies.
