Italian infrastructure VAD ICOS has signed an agreement with Deep Instinct to distribute the first and only cybersecurity platform that uses a preventative deep learning approach to block ransomware and other malware.

With a detection accuracy of more than 99% for known, unknown and zero-day threats and a guaranteed false positive rate of less than 0.1%, the Deep Instinct platform prevents attacks before they 'detonate' by detecting attackers in advance and blocking threats 750 times faster than the fastest ransomware currently known can begin to encrypt. The solution also protects endpoints beyond their perimeter, scanning files in transit from local and cloud data repositories, as well as web gateways.

"While standard EDR solutions are a significant step up from traditional antivirus, they sometimes have limitations in terms of effectiveness in detecting and reacting to threats", said Federico Marini, Managing Director of ICOS, commenting on the agreement. "Deep Instinct's approach, based on preventive protection enhanced by deep learning, is a powerful weapon in the daily fight against cybercrime. We are happy to provide our partners with a further high-tech tool, in which we strongly believe and that we are ready to support in the best possible way so that it becomes a success in Italy as it is already happening in the rest of the world."

"The high level of expertise of ICOS and its aptitude for channel development are factors that the market has widely recognised, and this is why we are particularly happy to be able to collaborate with a partner that has been able to demonstrate uncommon qualities over time. I am confident that the virtuous combination of their technical/commercial capabilities with our cutting-edge technology will allow us to bring AI-based preventive protection to an increasing number of organisations, at a time when cyber-risks are a major concern for any business", said Luca Mastromauro, Regional Sales Manager Italy & Southern Europe at Deep Instinct.

ICOS' market development efforts will include identifying and engaging a select group of partners to work closely with to bring Deep Instinct's innovative technology to customers. ICOS will provide its own staff to take care of the initial training of the partners and support them in the more complex stages of the commercial process. Where necessary, ICOS will also be able to work with partners to jointly carry out marketing and demand generation activities.
