Italian infrastructure and security VAD ICOS has signed an agreement to distribute the products of vendor QStar Technologies. The partnership signed between ICOS and QStar is the result of a choice based on shared strategic market objectives and focus on data management and protection. The distribution agreement includes, in addition to the national territory, the DACH market, where ICOS is directly present with its own organisation, ICOS Deutschland GmbH, based in Munich.

Thanks to ICOS' many years of experience in the storage sector, the new partnership will further increase QStar's presence in the channel. Resellers, VARs and system integrators will be able to enrich their offering of data storage solutions and technologies, as well as develop new value-added services for data analysis and optimisation both on premise and in the cloud. In line with an approach that has been established over the years, ICOS will offer partners not only the supply of products developed by QStar, but also accompanying services, ranging from pre-sales technical support, technical and commercial training, to support for marketing activities for the creation of business opportunities.

ICOS will also be able to benefit in both Italy and Germany from the industrial partnerships established by QStar with internationally renowned data backup vendors who integrate Tape as NAS - Long Term Archive technology into their solutions.

Commenting on the agreement, Federico Marini, Managing Director of ICOS, said: "QStar is an important vendor among the players operating in the field of data storage and management software solutions. It has the distinction of having a modular platform that can support capacity expansion from terabytes to petabytes and offer a variety of archive protection features such as tape copying, replication and real-time mirroring. This approach provides QStar's customers with a long-term data archiving strategy with the agility they need to evolve in an ever-changing market."

QStar's solutions will add to the portfolio of ICOS' Infrastructure business unit, which complements that focused on Cybersecurity solutions.
