Network and security VAD MIEL and IGEL, publisher of IGEL OS, the secure operating system designed for VDI and DaaS, have signed a distribution partnership for France.

MIEL is the historical distributor of Citrix solutions (since 1992) in France. Since then, the company has continued to promote remote working and cloud computing solutions.

This new partnership will allow IGEL to more strongly push its new secure O/S offerings for cloud workspaces to French players - resellers and cloud providers - in the DaaS and VDI ecosystem.

Leigh Howard, VP of Sales at IGEL Technology said: "I am delighted with this partnership between Miel and IGEL. It will accelerate our respective growth in France. Both companies share a strong strategic relationship with Citrix Systems whose technology is a key component of our vision for end-user computing and access to cloud-based workspaces and applications."

By migrating their Windows to the cloud with technologies from Citrix, VMware and Microsoft, CIOs are already reducing their exposure to risk because applications and data no longer reside on the client; IGEL OS turns any x86-64 device into a fully functional read-only endpoint for these cloud-based workspaces. The result is an increase in cybersecurity while maintaining user confidence.

MIEL thus completes its catalogue of solutions for Cloud and centralised environments (Citrix, ControlUp, ThinPrint, SEH, etc.), network optimisation (Extreme, Peplink, Opengear, etc.) and zero-trust security of data, systems and networks (Palo Alto Networks, DataCore, Carbonite, BeyondTrust, Illumio, Rapid7, LogPoint, Forescout, Vade, etc.)

"The MIEL teams are pleased to sign this new partnership. IGEL's innovative solutions are an additional asset in our portfolio of technologies for Cloud and Citrix environments in particular, bringing a new security brick, another MIEL speciality, which is essential to our customers' current needs", concludes Jean-Baptiste Pommé, Managing Director of MIEL.
