Security VAD Ingecom has acquired for an undisclosed amount some part of its colleague and partner MultiPoint Group, with the aim of consolidating its position at international level and positioning itself as a reference distributor in the Mediterranean area. The operation is beneficial for both parties, since MultiPoint Group will have the support of Ingecom at all levels (financial, commercial, technical and marketing).
The part of MultiPoint Group that has been acquired by Ingecom has not been disclosed by the companies, which claim it's a further step in the commercial relationship between them, which began at the beginning of this year, when the two VADs signed a strategic alliance with the aim of expanding the market. Ingecom has a presence in Italy, Portugal and Spain, while MultiPoint Group has Teams in Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Malta, Romania, Serbia and the United Arab Emirates, which facilitates the sale of both distributors' portfolios in a total of ten countries, seven of which are members of the European Union.
This is the first international operation of this magnitude that the Spanish distributor has carried out in its almost 25 years of existence, which reflects the growth and good positioning of VAD in the cybersecurity and cyberintelligence market.
Javier Modúbar, CEO of Ingecom, comments: "the investment we are making in MultiPoint Group is a strategic commitment by Ingecom to cover a very important territorial area for us, as well as for our manufacturers and customers. With this acquisition we are fulfilling part of the roadmap we have set for 2020 and, at the same time, we are strengthening Ingecom's relationship with MultiPoint Group, which will allow us to move forward in the medium term with the same company strategy, providing strategic value for our customers and manufacturers."
Ricardo Resnik, CEO of MultiPoint Group, said: "the move was a natural one between two VADs with the same business philosophy and a common cybersecurity business proposition. MultiPoint Group emerges stronger as a company, while Ingecom advances exponentially in its internationalisation strategy."
Founded in 2009 in Israel, MultiPoint Group employs more than 20 people and has a portfolio of more than 20 manufacturers. The company will continue to operate under the guidelines set by Resnik in the countries where it is present, but with the support of Ingecom's resources.
During the year, the two VADs have combined commercial and technical synergies in ten languages, as well as in logistics and marketing, benefiting not only the distributors themselves but also the manufacturers, partners and customers they serve. In fact, many manufacturers are already taking advantage of these benefits based on a common approach to cybersecurity and cyberintelligence that extends across a dozen countries. The latest of these is Forescout, a leader in Enterprise of Things security, which last July signed a distribution agreement with MultiPoint Group to expand the marketing of its solutions in Israel, as well as in the neighbouring country of Palestine. The manufacturer already had a presence in Israel, given that the company was founded in that state in 2000 and since then has been distributing its technology in that geographical area, and Ingecom has been marketing Forescout solutions in Spain since 2010, and subsequently also in Italy and Portugal.
On the other hand, at the end of January this year, SealPath joined the agreement, extending the distribution with MultiPoint Group from Israel to the rest of the countries where VAD has a presence, with the aim of becoming the IRM manufacturer of reference in these regions as well.
These two companies join the list of manufacturers that have committed to the MultiPoint Group and Ingecom alliance, consolidating the portfolio of both distributors in order to unify it. At present, the VADs have a common portfolio of eleven solutions formed by AlienVault (AT&T), ExtraHop, Forescout, Garland Technology, Kela, ReSec, SealPath, Thycotic, Vicarius, Yubico and Zimperium; all these manufacturers benefit from this common strategy that allows them to reach ten countries with a single interlocution.
