Kappa Data Build its Ambitions with Investlink

Patrick Casteels, Managing Partner Kappa Data

Investlink, the capital fund owned by Hans Van Erum, Bert Van Loco and Frank Staut, has taken a stake in Belgian network, security and IoT distributor Kappa Data. The owners of the capital fund are known as the founders of Securelink, acquired by Orange Cybersecurity last year.

With this step, Kappa Data underlines its strong growth ambitions. In Belgium, the company has been an established value for years and is the preferred distributor for numerous resellers. Kappa Data has also been active in the Netherlands and Poland for several years now. Initially the intention is to strengthen its presence in those countries, although the company certainly does not rule out possible takeovers in other countries.

"With our management team, we have succeeded in growing Kappa Data strongly in recent years. Our turnover and profits have doubled over the last 5 years. With this investment we support our growth plans and can double again in the next 5 years", said Chris Willems, Managing Partner Kappa Data.

Bert Van Loco, Managing Partner Investlink, adds: "through our experience with Securelink, we know the sector very well, of course. Our experiences as a client of Kappa Data have always been excellent. We see it as a great challenge to share our knowledge of the market with Kappa Data and thus strengthen them."

Patrick Casteels, Managing Partner Kappa Data, concludes: "Investlink's participation not only gives us a very wealthy partner. Their knowledge of the market and their success story with Securelink give this participation an extra dimension that you rarely encounter with a capital fund."
