M&M e-commerce acquires MoreCases

Bas van den Houten, General Manager of MoreCases

M&M e-commerce group, the parent company of Smartphonehoesjes.nl and Smartphonehoesjeszakelijk.nl, has taken over mobile accessory specialist MoreCases. With the acquisition of MoreCases, M&M e-commerce group increases its distribution position in the indirect telecom channel. MoreCases remains an independent entity within the group that supplies retailers and resellers with telecom accessories. Bas van den Houten has been appointed General Manager of MoreCases within the M&M e-commerce group. His main task is to oversee the acquisition of MoreCases and organise the company within the group. "Thanks to the footprint of MoreCases, in combination with the scale of the M&M e-commerce group, we can make a huge step forward and offer an optimal service to retailers and resellers", says Van den Houten. "With our extensive network of brands and manufacturers, the new MoreCases now offers the largest range of products in Europe with more than 30,000 articles. Through support in the areas of sales, data, content and logistics, we help retailers to make their sales of mobile accessories more successful. Thanks to our digital ordering portal, retailers are able to offer their end customers a much wider range of accessories in-store, without having to bear the stock risk themselves. We deliver the chosen product to the store the next working day or, if desired, to the end customer's home." From his previous role as sales director of the Xtorm and Gecko Covers brands, Van den Houten is familiar with the challenges in telecom retail: "retailers have to deal with declining sales and increasing competition from online providers. It is essential for them to be able to offer an extensive range of accessories as an extra service to the customer in the store in order to make extra sales. They have the most essential accessories in stock, but it is impossible to keep everything in stock. We now offer them a hybrid solution in this respect, allowing them to retain their specialist role for the end customer. With the acquisition of MoreCases we are now even more the perfect partner for the indirect channel than we already were." The founder of MoreCases, Sander Vos, is also very pleased with the transition of MoreCases to the M&M e-commerce group: "this integration within the M&M e-commerce group creates a rock-solid distributor that is ready for the future. After 18 great years with MoreCases, the time has come to fully focus on the stylish leather phone accessory brand Valenta. Valenta has the ambition to be a global brand in various channels with a dedicated assortment. We do this as an independent company. With the new combination we have a beautiful full service partner for the retail channel. So the ties with our former MoreCases will certainly not be severed." With the takeover, the sales department and associated personnel will move from MoreCases to M&M e-commerce group in Leusden.
